Forge 0 Winner · Team Phoenix · August 2026

ReconMed

One correct medicine list, before the patient goes home.

Team Phoenix won Forge 0 with ReconMed. Their winning prototype brings conflicting medication lists into a single review workflow, helping a pharmacist inspect discrepancies before a clinician signs off.

The challenge behind the win

What should every UAE hospital have by 2031?

Forge 0 was MedHack’s founding online engineering challenge, held August 2–9, 2026. Twenty teams had one week to build a working software prototype for a real hospital problem, inspired by the “We the UAE 2031” vision.

What teams had to deliver

A working prototype, a proposal document explaining the problem and solution, a pitch deck, and a demonstration video of no more than seven minutes.

How the work was judged

A 50-point rubric covered problem understanding, innovation, technical execution, feasibility and impact, and presentation. The working prototype carried the most weight: 15 points.

Team Phoenix focused on medication reconciliation at discharge: turning conflicting records into one medicine list for a clinician to review. ReconMed was their answer.

The winning project

The problem
Medication records can disagree across sources. A manual reconciliation adds work to an already busy ward.
The approach
Compare lists, surface ranked findings with their sources, and keep each decision with the reviewing clinician.
The patient experience
Present the reviewed plan in English and Arabic, with explanations, dose reminders and follow-up prompts.
